Forest School

What is Forest School?

It is an approach to learning and development in all areas, run by trained Forest School Leaders. Their aim is for participants to enjoy their experiences, to improve their knowledge and wellbeing within an outdoor setting, as a valued member of a community. Children are encouraged to learn through play in a woodland setting, enabling them to develop their problem solving skills, manage their risk taking and embark on a wild journey of exploration!

We provide taster sessions and repeat sessions for schools and community groups.

Our facilitators are Level 3 Forest School practitioners, experienced in running regular Forest School sessions with Early Years through to Primary-aged children. Contact us to discuss ideas and we will develop a programme to suit your aims and budget! If your school grounds are suitable, we can come to you. Alternatively we also have a range of local nature sites throughout Cheshire.

We design our sessions to be inclusive, supporting mental, emotional, and physical health in ways that feel safe, empowering, and accessible. Whether you're gently tending raised beds, growing your own food, exploring sensory planting, or simply finding calm in a green space, therapeutic gardening offers:

•      Emotional grounding through rhythm, routine, and connection to the seasons

•      Confidence and communication through shared tasks and social interaction

•      Resilience and recovery through nature-based activities that foster agency and hope

•      Practical skills that build independence, curiosity, and a sense of achievement

Our approach is shaped by lived experience, community voice, and a commitment to inclusive wellbeing. Every session is co-created to meet the needs of participants.
